SCID Angels For Life was founded over a decade ago by Heather Smith following the death of her firstborn son at just seven months old, whose diagnosis was later confirmed as severe combined immune deficiency (SCID). Since then, fueled by its motto “knowledge is power”, this small, primarily volunteer run organisation, has dedicated its time to increasing awareness of SCID and providing a safe space for families to connect.
